When it comes to inductions into the Pro Hall of Fame, some selections are more of a slam dunk than others. Barry Sanders is one of those players, as there was no question he belonged on his first ballot. The legendary Detroit Lion set the standard at the running back position and is seen by many as the best to ever run the football. In Sanders’ 10-year career, he never once fell short of the 1,000-yard rushing yard mark and he led the league in rushing yards four different times, while leading the league in rushing touchdowns once. While being selected to the Pro Bowl and being named to an All-Pro team all ten years, he had an MVP season in 1997 where he had rushed for a career high 2,053 rushing yards and scored 11 rushing touchdowns. Sanders turned around the Lions franchise and led them to five playoff appearances and their first playoff win since the AFL-NFL merger. He had his number 20 retired by Detroit and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2004.
