Drafted first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft Connor McDavid made his debut with the Oilers on October 8th, 2015 in a 3 -1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. 5 days later, on October 13th, McDavid scored his first NHL Goal in the second period to tie the game against the Dallas Stars. With the goal McDavid joined some prestigious company joining Sidney Crosby and Wayne Gretzky as players to score their first NHL goal in their third career game. McDavid would miss 45 games of his rookie season due to injury but still finished with 16 goals and 32 assists, fourth in rookie scoring and third in Calder Memorial Trophy voting, a remarkable feat considering he missed more than half the season.
