At just 26 years old Connor McDavid has already accumulated over 850 points in his NHL career and is doing it much faster than anyone before him. The Richmond Hill, Canada native scored his 800th career point on February 21, 2023 making him the fifth fastest player to reach 800 points, doing so in only 545 games. McDavid will begin the 2023-2024 season as captain of the Oilers for his 8th season, the longest tenure in the history of the franchise. McDavid also sits 4th on the Oilers list in assists and 5th in Oilers history for most points entering the 2023-2024 season. At his young age and at the pace he is playing at McDavid has a chance to overcome the overall Oilers points and assists records held by Wayne Gretzky.
