While mostly a laid-back fun event for fans to come watch the NHL’s best talent on display every year, there is some seriousness to the NHL’s annual All-Star Game and Skills Competition. Having been invited to his 7th consecutive All-Star game, Connor McDavid was asked to compete in the 2024 skills competition with the winner of the competition taking home a $1 million prize. McDavid already has a history with the skills competition having won the Fastest Skater event in 2017, 2018, and 2020. In the 2024 event McDavid would win Fastest Skater again, this year also winning the stick-handling event and going 4 for 4 in accuracy shooting to win the overall Skills Competition and take home the $1 million prize. With his fourth win in 2024, Connor McDavid holds the record for most NHL Fastest Skater awards.
