Due to his high level of play, Connor McDavid was granted Exceptional Player status, which allowed him to enter the 2012 OHL Priority Selection at the age of 15. With the first overall pick, McDavid was drafted by the Erie Otters and went on to receive the Red Tilson Trophy in 2014-15 season for being the OHL Player of the Year. After being selected first overall by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, he made his highly anticipated NHL debut on October 9, 2015 against the St. Louis Blues. McDavid is no stranger to awards. In his rookie season in the NHL, he was voted the NHL Rookie of the Month in October, February and March. When he takes the ice, McDavid speeds up and down the arena in CCM JetSpeed skates, and now Upper Deck Authenticated is offering autographed pairs of the same style he wears. McDavid has autographed the right skate and inscribed “NHL Debut 10/9/15” on the left CCM JetSpeed skate in silver paint pen.
