Max Jacquiard - Harvest Time

The Steam engine and strange-looking threshing machine rattled slowly toward
a field; men on horseback and in wagons accompanied them. Women and
children waited at farms or stood on the road waving to the men, enjoying the
spectacle and anticipating the arrival at their own farms. For decades, that harvest
parade signalled the most important time of the crop year on the Canadian
prairies. Farm by farm, the fall work reached its pinnacle at the roving
machines and their crews threshed fields of gold.

Max Jacquiard has a sizeable research library of printed materials, photos and
slides of steam trains and the places they would have operated. It is that attention
to precise and accurate details that can be seen in his paintings. The sensitivity
to his subject and quiet passion that is infused into each work seem to allow
Max Jaquiard to breath life into the canvases. The images he creates have
captured the imaginations of steam buffs across Canada and the United
States. His paintings grace the walls in homes across North America.
