FRASER McGURK is a CANMORE ALBERTA CANADA artist.
His pieces are in high demand locally and throughout the world.

 

Fraser McGurk's signed & numbered prints are based on original wood intarsia.

Intarsia woodworking is the art of creating a mosaic-like picture
from pieces of wood. Different species of wood are selected for their color
and cut to size using a scroll saw. The woodworker can create an illusion
of depth by carefully selecting the grain pattern
and direction of each individual piece.

The process of masterfully creating an original
and painting each individual piece of wood takes approximately one month.
Images are then photographed and scanned with the highest quality
printing technology to reproduce a
metal or canvas surface.
