It would be unfair to compare Bobby Orr and Wayne Gretzky as both stand atop the NHL as the best the game has ever seen. Both were unique in their playing styles, as Bobby Orr was known for his fast aggressive end to end play vs Wayne Gretzky, known more for his exceptional vision, intelligence, and anticipation of plays. Perhaps the biggest difference between the two was the fact that because Orr played so fast and rough, his career ended at the age of 30 due to injuries (Wayne Gretzky was 38 when he retired). Orr has a full mantle of trophies and accomplishments throughout his career, 8 Norris Trophies, 3 Hart Trophies, 2 Stanley Cups, 2 Conn Smythe Trophies, and 2 Art Ross Trophies, but had he been able to play another 8-10 years, nobody knows how many more awards he could have stacked up. As it is, Bobby Orr still is known as the best defensemen and one of the best overall players to ever play the game of hockey.
