Light show surrounding Denali and Mount Foraker taken just after midnight near the summer solstice.
I left camp at 10 p.m. to get the shot - hard to beat those never-ending Alaskan summer days.
Was covered head to toe, including a bug head net,
to defend against what seemed to be a million mosquitoes swarming the area.
I was then lucky enough to witness a massive bull moose pass by around 1 a.m.
An evening I will never forget.

I climbed Denali (20,310 ft.) in May 2024 on a three week expedition, one of the hardest of my life.
The mountain is the coldest place on Earth outside Antarctica,
and temps up top reached forty below with the wind chill.
I spent 15 nights in a tent in below zero temps and had to carry 100 pounds of gear up the mountain.
Denali is the tallest mountain on Earth from its base to summit,
hence why the peak took three weeks to climb.
